— Zora Neale Hurston
I’m real late with this, but I’ve decided to honor Zora Neale Hurston for the rest of the month. She told many fibs about her birth year to hide her age. But she was born AND died in January. My favorite writer, she was a figure in the Harlem Renaissance – an earthy and wise woman, a linguistic anthropologist of African-American dialect, in her writings and her sayings.
